Campusbug.com is a great place to meet people, have fun, and learn from one another.
The most important thing to remember is to always be safe when you are online. You
should also remember that people you meet on the internet might not be who they seem
to be. If you're in any type of public forum, avoid giving out your full name, your
mailing address, your telephone number, the name of your school, or any other information
that could help someone determine your actual identity. We require that all of our members
are at least 14 years of age to use the site. Keeping our community members safe is a major
priority to us. Here are a few tips to remember…
|
- Keep your identity private
Never post any personal information in a public forum. Avoid giving out your full name,
your mailing address, your telephone number, the name of your school, or any other
information that could help someone determine your actual identity.
- Be careful about who you meet online
One of the biggest concerns in social networking is when members decide to meet in person.
The safest way is to avoid meeting in person with online members. If you feel it's appropriate
to meet someone then here are a few tips to follow. First, discuss it with your parents.
Make sure they know the person and feel comfortable with the situation. Second, arrange to
meet in a public place. Try to meet in a coffee shop, mall, or restaurant. Third, never
go alone. There is always more safety in numbers.
- Flag users for review
One of the ways we can better protect your safety is by having you flag other members for
review. If you receive an e-mail, chat comment, message, or inappropriate picture then hit
the flag user for review button. This will help us better police the site and make Campusbug
a more fun and enjoyable place.
